However, even the most reliable hardware can run into issues: forgotten administrator passwords, networking errors, database corruption, or sluggish performance. In many cases, a factory reset (also known as a hard reset or master reset) is the only solution to bring the device back to life.

  • Open reset.dat with Notepad. Type the following exactly (case-sensitive):

  • After 30 seconds, the device will beep twice and reboot. The reset is complete.
  • Remove the USB drive.
  • Note: This method does not work on all UA300 firmware versions (specifically pre-2019). If nothing happens after 2 minutes, the device does not support it.


    If you are performing this reset to solve a network connection issue, be aware that resetting the device may change the IP address back to the default. You may need to connect the device directly to a PC via Ethernet and change the PC's IP to the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.1.x) to reconfigure the device's network settings.
