Sketchup Building Point Link
You link a point, and suddenly your exterior wall becomes blue (inside face).
If you use the Scale tool to stretch a wall, the points at the far end move. However, scaling breaks geometric constraints. Always use the Move tool when preserving point links. sketchup building point link
You cannot link a point inside a component to a point inside another component unless you open both for editing simultaneously (double click into both via the Outliner). You link a point, and suddenly your exterior
❌ Not fully parametric – SketchUp lacks native parametric constraints (like Revit or SolidWorks). Workarounds require extensions or complex Dynamic Components.
❌ Steep learning curve – Dynamic Component formulas can confuse beginners.
❌ File bloat – Too many nested links slow down performance.
❌ Breakage – If a source point is deleted or renamed, links break silently.
❌ Limited associative geometry – Curves and surfaces don’t always follow point links smoothly. Always use the Move tool when preserving point links
