Mismatch 2 is the sequel to the 2019 hit web series Mismatch, which itself was based on the popular novel by renowned Bengali author Smaranjit Chakraborty. The series captures the essence of modern-day relationships, academic pressure, and self-discovery among college students in Kolkata.

Directed by Biplob Das Sarkar and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films (SVF) for Hoichoi, Mismatch 2 continues the love story of Rishi and Ketki, portrayed by Soumya Majumder and Rupsha Mukhopadhyay respectively. The new season picks up a few years after the first, exploring the challenges of post-graduation life, career dilemmas, and whether the couple’s mismatched personalities can survive the test of time and distance.

Mrs. Sen arrives uninvited. She corners Rumi: "You broke my son once. Don't pretend to fix him now." Rumi is shattered but says nothing to Rishav.
Instead, she throws herself into wedding prep—painting rangoli, cooking with the resort chefs. Rishav finds her crying in the kitchen at 2 AM. She confesses she’s been hiding her freelance work drying up. "I'm a mess, Rishav. You were right to leave."
He holds her hand. "I was a coward. Not right."
