We will cover both Windows and Linux installations. The procedure differs slightly because Vivado’s directory structure varies by OS.
Set system date to 2021 before launching Vivado (temporary, not recommended for production):
Linux:
sudo date -s "2021-12-31 12:00:00"
vivado
# Reset after: sudo date -s "2025-01-01 12:00:00"
Windows: Disable internet time sync, set date manually to Dec 2021, launch Vivado, then re-enable.
Cause: You downloaded the wrong patch version.
Fix: Double-check your Vivado version via vivado -version. Download the exact match. vivado y2k22 patch install
While the patch is designed to be safe, always backup critical directories:
1. "No Xilinx software found to patch"
2. "Permission Denied"
3. Antivirus Flagging
