The legacy shader (from MMD 9.32) executes the following per-pixel steps:

  • PMX/PMD model with reasonable normals; PMXEditor for fixes.
  • Texture files: diffuse (albedo), specular/roughness if used, normal maps optional, toon texture (1D ramp) if shader uses it.

  • You forgot to disable Self Shadow in the Draw tab. Toon shaders override MMD’s shadow system. Turn it off.
