Companies need training discs that work offline in manufacturing plants. TAW6 can create "forced" menus – meaning the user must watch a safety disclaimer before the main menu appears (using "First Play" and "End Action" settings).
Let’s walk through a real-world scenario: You have a 2-hour MP4 recording of a school play. You want a DVD with a chapter menu.
Step 1: Add File Launch TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6. Click "Add File." Import your MP4. The Source Wizard asks: "Do you want to smart render this file?" If the file is long GOP (Group of Pictures) H.264, the wizard will flag that it needs re-encoding for DVD. Accept the defaults. Click Menu tab (top)
Step 2: Track Settings You will see a timeline. Drag the slider to set chapter points every 5 minutes. For a school play, you might set chapters for "Act 1," "Intermission," and "Act 2." Add a subtitle track if needed.
Step 3: Design the Menu Select a template. Change the background image to a photo of the school stage. Customize the "Play" button to be a star icon. Set the background music to the school’s fight song (MP3 import works fine).
Step 4: Simulation Click the "Simulation" button (the remote control icon). Press "Up" on your keyboard. Does the button highlight? Press "Enter." Does the movie start? This virtual test ensures zero playback errors. Custom menu elements :
Step 5: Output You have three outputs:
Since standard Blu-ray players don’t read 4K discs, you can use TAW6 to create a "Data Disc" containing 4K MP4 files. Label the disc "4K Footage." This will not play in a living room player, but will play on a PC or media box like the Nvidia Shield.
