GLFW is an Open Source, multi-platform library for OpenGL, OpenGL ES and Vulkan development on the desktop. It provides a simple API for creating windows, contexts and surfaces, receiving input and events.

GLFW is written in C and supports Windows, macOS, Wayland and X11.

GLFW is licensed under the zlib/libpng license.

The Legend Of: Condor Heroes 2017 Extra Quality

Shot largely on location in Xiangshan and Yunnan, the drama uses natural lighting and earthy color palettes — a departure from the neon-drenched xianxia look. The Mongolian prairie scenes are vast and authentic; the Peach Blossom Island set is atmospheric without being cartoonish.

Purists often dread modern adaptations for their tendency to "innovate" plotlines. The 2017 team, however, treats the source material with reverence. The plot follows the novel closely, retaining the intricate political dynamics between the Song and Jin dynasties and the complex web of the "Seven Freaks of Jiangnan."

While no adaptation is perfect, the pacing here is tighter than in the 1983 classic, trimming the fat while keeping the muscle of the narrative intact. The martial arts choreography is a highlight—visually spectacular but retaining the logic and philosophy of the internal energy (Qi) described in the books. the legend of condor heroes 2017 extra quality

| Scene | Standard Webrip | Extra Quality | |-------|----------------|----------------| | Guo Jing learns Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms from Hong Qigong | Shaky cam, flat audio | Stable 24fps, clear fist/palm sounds, ambient wind | | Huang Rong outwits Ouyang Ke at the Drunken Immortal Pavilion | Overexposed, blurry background | Color-corrected lanterns, visible hand gestures, sharp crowd reactions | | Final battle on Mount Junji | Blocky shadows, compressed explosions | High-bitrate darkness, detailed armor scratches, layered audio of clashing swords |

Since 2017, we have seen the 2024 movie adaptation and the cartoon Bewildering Heart (unrelated). Yet, the 2017 series remains the benchmark. Why? Shot largely on location in Xiangshan and Yunnan,

Because the "Extra Quality" of 2017 was restraint. In an era of excess, they trusted Jin Yong’s original text. They trusted the audience to sit through 52 episodes of slow-burn character development. They trusted that a martial arts sweep is more impressive without a digital dragon superimposed on it.

Furthermore, the 2017 series has become a comfort watch. During the global lockdowns of the early 2020s, viewership spiked 400% on streaming platforms (YouTube, where it is officially available, saw millions of re-watches). People returned to the world of the Condor Heroes not for the spectacle, but for the warmth. The relationship between Guo Jing and Huang Rong is awkward, pure, and built on respect—a stark contrast to the toxic dynamics of modern romance dramas. The 2017 team, however, treats the source material

At release (2017): Praised for reviving wuxia drama after a slump of xianxia/fantasy. Some criticism of slow pacing in the first 5 episodes.

Now (retrospective): Widely hailed as the best adaptation since 1994 (Zhang Zhilin/Zhu Yin version). Many fans rank it above the 2008 and 2003 adaptations, second only to the 1983 classic for nostalgic value.

“Extra quality” is not an official production term but a fan-driven descriptor used in online communities (e.g., MyDramaList, Reddit, Avistaz, Chinese forums). It refers to three key aspects:

The most immediate upgrade in the 2017 edition is the visual palette.

Version 3.3.10 released

Posted on

GLFW 3.3.10 is available for download.

This is a bug fix release. It adds fixes for issues on all supported platforms.

Binaries for Visual C++ 2010 and 2012 are no longer included. These versions are no longer supported by Microsoft and should not be used. This release of GLFW can still be compiled with them if necessary, but future releases will drop this support.

Binaries for the original MinGW distribution are no longer included. MinGW appears to no longer be maintained and should not be used. The much more capable MinGW-w64 project should be used instead. This release of GLFW can still be compiled with the original MinGW if necessary, but future releases will drop this support.

Version 3.3.9 released

Posted on

GLFW 3.3.9 is available for download.

This is primarily a bug fix release for all supported platforms but it also adds libdecor support for Wayland. This provides better window decorations in some desktop environments, notably GNOME.

With this release GLFW should be fully usable on Wayland, although there are still some issues left to resolve.
