(14 March 2022)

Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, in an escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. The invasion is the largest conventional military attack on a sovereign state in Europe since World War II. Since the beginning of Putin's war, thousands of both Ukraine and Russian citizens have been killed. Russian military have indiscriminately bombed cities in Ukraine, destroying many hospitals and schools. Our heart goes out to the 2.7 million plus refugees that have left Ukraine for neighboring countries, and those who stayed to fight the Russian invaders.

YAGio - Yagi Design by W8IO

YAGio 1.01 is the most current released version.  YAGio runs under Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Win 7 and likely Win 8.  YAGio is similar to LPCAD, it uses keyboard commands instead of a mouse menu. YAGio allows you to create DL6WU long Yagi antennas on any frequency, typically on VHF and UHF ham frequencies. You specify the frequency, desired gain, type of element to boom mounting, DE diameter and parasitic element diameter, and YAGio does the rest.  You can save these designs in 5 different formats - YIO (used by YAGio), NEC (used by 4NEC2), YAG (YO), MMA (MMANA-GAL)  and YC6 (used by YagiCAD). You can also print the results to your Windows default printer. Please email me at rgcox2 (at) gmail.com if you find bugs or to suggest improvements. YAGio.exe version 1.01 was created on 6-10-2015 at 12:39 pm.  The exe file size is 221K. You may download YAGio101.ZIP here.

I am currently working on YAGio 1.02.  I will also add file export support for 4 bay NEC models.

I like to use 4NEC2 to evaluate my Yagi models.  It is a very nice, full featured version of NEC2.  You can find the latest version of 4NEC2 here:
http://www.qsl.net/4nec2

You can also find a faster NEC2 "engine" for 4NEC2. (web site currently unavailable) The NEC2/MP "engine" will speed up computation tremendously in dual and quad core PC's.  A model that took 60 seconds to run in 4NEC2's existing computation engine should complete under 25 seconds using the NEC2/MP engine in a dual core CPU and under 12 seconds in a quad core CPU.

Here are a couple screen shots from YAGio 1.0 running in Win 7:

Tamil Actress Nallennai Chitra Blue Film Exclusive <Direct × HANDBOOK>

Modern audiences often struggle with black-and-white films. The pacing is slow, the acting is theatrical, and the audio quality is poor. So why invest the time?

1. Linguistic purity: Vintage Tamil films used "Senthamizh" (classical Tamil) or authentic rural dialect ("Kongu Tamil" or "Madurai Tamil"). You won't find anglicized slang here. 2. Costume authenticity: Designers today spend millions to recreate a 1940s village look. Vintage films documented the real thing—actual handloom cotton, authentic temple jewelry, and traditional hairstyles. 3. The "Gaze" is respectful: Unlike modern "item songs," character actresses like Nallennai played integral roles. Their beauty was secondary to their acting. When you watch these films, you see women with agency, singing folk songs that carried social messages.

If you close your eyes and think of Tamil cinema’s "Puratchi Kalaingar" (Revolutionary Artist), the legendary M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), one sensory detail often rises above the rest. It isn't the flash of a sword or the click of a gun; it is the glisten of his hair. tamil actress nallennai chitra blue film exclusive

For decades, the distinct, nutty aroma of Nallennai (cold-pressed sesame oil) was the unofficial perfume of the Tamil silver screen. In the black-and-white and early color eras, a well-oiled head was not just a style; it was a cultural hallmark of discipline, health, and tradition. It signaled the "paatti vaithiyam" (grandmother's remedy) for a sharp mind.

Legends tell of how MGR, a stickler for perfection, would ensure his hair was perfectly coiffed and glistening with oil before every shot. It gave the actor a look of vitality under the harsh studio lights. Actresses like Savitri and B. Saroja Devi carried this tradition with grace; their long, braided plaits, soaked in oil, symbolized the ideal Indian woman—traditional, nurturing, and strong. Modern audiences often struggle with black-and-white films

This "Nallennai aesthetic" was more than vanity; it grounded the cinema in reality. When you watch a emotional scene where a mother strokes her son's hair, or a sibling braids her sister's hair, you aren't just seeing a scene—you are seeing the rituals of a household brought to life on 35mm film.

(Other actresses: K. R. Vijaya in Thillana Mohanambal (1968) – dancer with agency; M. N. Rajam in Andha Naal (1954) – noir-ish wife.) (Other actresses: K

This film, based on the Tamil epic Silappadikaram, is a cornerstone of vintage cinema. Nallennai played a minor but pivotal role as a companion to Kannagi (played by P. Bhanumathi). While Bhanumathi’s fiery portrayal of the wronged wife dominates the narrative, Nallennai’s quiet dignity as the friend who witnesses the injustice provides emotional grounding.

Why watch today: It offers a rare glimpse of early Dravidian aesthetics, with elaborate temple-set designs. Nallennai’s scenes are a masterclass in submissive yet powerful body language.

While Paasamalar is universally remembered for Sivaji Ganesan and Gemini Ganesan, Nallennai appears as a neighbor who shelters the estranged sister. In just three scenes, she provides the film’s only comic relief and later, a heartbreaking monologue about motherhood.

Why include this in a vintage list? Because it proves that even a small role in a blockbuster can define a career. Nallennai’s scene where she shares a single idli with a hungry child is still used in acting workshops today.
