Once you’ve successfully revived your USB drive, follow these rules to extend its life:

Some generic tools like "USB Flash Drive Repair Tool v6.0" claim to work on all controllers. We do not recommend these—they often brick the drive further. Sss6697-b7 Repair Tool

  • Connect the drive – tool should detect it (green or blue status). Once you’ve successfully revived your USB drive, follow

  • Start (Space bar or Start button) – process takes 2–10 minutes. Some generic tools like "USB Flash Drive Repair Tool v6

  • Finish – success shown as “OK” or green circle. Replug drive, then reformat in Windows (FAT32/NTFS).

    • If the tool doesn’t see your drive, you need to install the "MMC" driver.
