Q: Can I use a SketchUp 2019 license key to activate SketchUp 2020?

Q: Is there an open-source alternative to SketchUp?
A: Yes. FreeCAD (parametric modeling) or Blender (full 3D suite) are powerful, free, and legal. They have steeper learning curves but no licensing risks. Sketchup 2020 License Key And Authorization Number

Trimble offers a completely free, browser-based version of SketchUp. While it lacks some Pro features (like advanced import/export or Layout), it includes core modeling tools and 10GB of cloud storage. No license key required.
If you need full Pro features temporarily, Trimble provides a 30-day free trial of the latest SketchUp Pro (currently 2024). This gives you a legitimate authorization number during the trial period. Perpetual licenses are version-locked
Historically, the License Key was a string of alphanumeric characters (often formatted as five groups of five characters) that identified a specific purchase. It acted as a proof-of-purchase. In legacy versions of SketchUp (prior to the subscription pivot), this key was entered to register the software. It did not activate the software on its own; it merely initiated the process.
The Authorization Number (often referred to as the Auth Code) was the second layer of security in legacy licensing. After a user entered a valid License Key, the software would contact Trimble’s servers to verify the key. If the key was valid and had available seats, the server would generate an Authorization Number specific to that machine. This number "unlocked" the software for use.

When you enable the extension on a page, whether it's the standard client or a mashup, it will start recording recalculation times.
Every time an object is revalidated then extension will register time elapsed for recalculation.
It will also count how many revalidations has occured.
If the object is no longer on the screen, the extension will continue to monitor recalculations, so when you re-enable it you will get all the statistics.
