ABOUT
We are the ARCHUB Architects, a full-service design and consulting group specializing in environmental design architecture and research. Founded at Abu Dhabi University, ARCHHUB Architects is led by Mohamed Elkaftangui, Nadia Mounajjed, and Alessandra Misuri. It is committed to developing architectural designs towards a contemporary interpretation embodying an environmental and sustainable approach.
ARCHUB's projects encompass housing, public buildings, art, and interior design. Their projects are in the United Arab Emirates, but the team’s professional experience has been extended in Europe and Africa.
While practicing architecture, ARCHUB documents and discusses its reflections on architecture, culture, and arts through publications, architectural exhibitions, and academic lectures and presentations.
MISSION
The thoughtful, collaborative, and lasting creation of architecture can impact quality of life for those who use it. ARCHUB ARCHITECTS is devoted to crafting exclusive and responsive spaces that go beyond the standard building experience. We believe in our responsibility as designers to provide clients with projects that are sustainable and responsible.
PROCESS
A design process informed by research, encompassing every phase:
from planning to programming, as from concept to development.
Environmental assessment and building energy performance.
Optimized design process that leads to sustainable design.
ARCHUB believes that the most important key to success in the design thinking process is to improve the use of creative thinking throughout the different phases of the project.
To keep improving the quality of our solutions, we focus on the end user and create a collaborative environment working on refining ideas. In our projects, we create solutions to combine aesthetics, costs, durability, and environmental responsibility.
Architecture and its environment are interdependent on one another. The environment gives context to its architecture, architecture defines its environment.
In our projects, we provide important care to the thermal comfort of users by the creation of building systems that are adapted to the local environment and functions of the space. We control factors like insulation, solar gain, thermal inertia, and air ventilation.
By adopting an environmental design approach through our scientific engagements, ARCHUB ARCHITECTS possesses a unique advantage over traditional architecture firms when it comes to design and construction.
Most of our architectural projects are subjects of research and publications in conferences and journals.
ARCHUB gives junior architects and alumni access to mentorship, investors, and other support to help them to move beyond their embryonic phase.
ARCHUB provides support and coaching for new architectural projects businesses that have a promising idea, as well as for entrepreneurs still in the idea stage.
In addition to mentorship, our business incubators give young architects access to logistical and technical resources as well as shared office space.
The game’s executable (SW4-II.exe) uses a hardcoded XInput 1.4 library check. It does not:
Additionally, the game ignores Steam’s default “Global Controller Settings” unless forced via per-game configuration.
The primary issue with Samurai Warriors 4-II on PC is its reliance on XInput. The game natively supports Xbox controllers (XInput) but struggles with DirectInput devices (older controllers or many third-party gamepads). Furthermore, the game can be finicky about detecting controllers if they are plugged in after the game has launched.
Here is how to solve the most common problems.
Before we dive into the fixes, it helps to understand the enemy (bad programming). Samurai Warriors 4-II was ported with a hard-coded expectation for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controller (XInput) .
The game recognizes DirectInput controllers, but it maps the axes incorrectly. For example, the Right Stick (camera) often controls the D-Pad, and the triggers act as Start/Select. The game also suffers from a bug where it constantly "forgets" your controller if you unplug it or tab out.
Let’s summarize the Samurai Warriors 4-II PC Controller Fix hierarchy:
| Your Controller | Best Fix | Time Required | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | Xbox One / Series X/S | Do nothing. Works natively. | 0 seconds | | DualShock 4 / DualSense | Fix #1 (Steam Input) | 2 minutes | | Nintendo Switch Pro | Fix #1 (Steam Input) + Disable Nintendo Layout | 3 minutes | | Logitech / Thrustmaster | Fix #4 (x360ce) | 5 minutes | | Generic No-Name Pad | Fix #4 (x360ce) | 5 minutes | | DualShock 4 (with Gyro/LED) | Fix #3 (DS4Windows) | 4 minutes |
The controller issue in Samurai Warriors 4-II is not a hardware failure but a software recognition gap. Enabling Steam Input resolves the problem for over 90% of users without third-party tools. For non-Steam copies or legacy controllers, x360ce remains the reliable fallback.
No official patch is expected from Koei Tecmo due to the game’s age (2015 release), but the above methods restore full controller functionality with minimal performance overhead.

The hum of the PC fan was the only sound in Kenji’s room, a rhythmic buzz that usually signaled the start of an epic conquest. Tonight, however, it sounded like a taunt. On the screen, Samurai Warriors 4-II
was stalled. Kenji’s gamepad sat limp in his hands—a masterless ronin of plastic and wires.
“How am I supposed to unite Japan with a keyboard?” he muttered, tapping the WASD keys with a grimace. It felt wrong. Yukimura Sanada deserved the fluid grace of an analog stick, not the clunky digital stutter of a mechanical switch.
Kenji dove into the digital archives (the Steam forums). He found a community of warriors facing the same phantom foe. The game, a port from another era, was picky. It didn’t recognize his modern controller; it was looking for the ghosts of DirectInput, ignoring the XInput signals his gamepad screamed into the USB port. He began the ritual of the Controller Fix
First, he navigated to the game’s local files—the inner sanctum of the directory. He whispered a prayer to the god of compatibility and opened the Steam Input
settings. He forced the "Use Steam Input" override to "On," hoping the software would act as a translator between his hands and the code. Nothing. The buttons remained unresponsive. Next, he looked for the legendary
—an emulator meant to trick the game into seeing a standard Xbox controller. He dropped the .exe into the folder like a tactical smoke bomb. He mapped the buttons: Cross to A, Square to X. He launched the game. The title screen glowed. “Press any button.”
Kenji pressed 'A'. The menu clicked. A surge of triumph hit him harder than a Musou attack. He loaded the Battle of Odawara, and as Yukimura swung his spear in a perfect, 360-degree arc controlled by the thumbstick, Kenji leaned back.
The hardware and software were finally in harmony. The war for the controller was over; the War for Japan had just begun. step-by-step technical instructions to perform this fix yourself, or are you looking for a different troubleshooting method

samurai warriors 4-ii - Controller issues? - Steam Community
Solving controller issues in Samurai Warriors 4-II on PC can be frustrating because the game relies on DirectInput rather than the modern XInput standard used by most current controllers. This often results in the game failing to detect your gamepad or causing issues like unmapped triggers and spinning cameras.
Below is a comprehensive guide to the best fixes, ranging from simple Steam settings to advanced third-party tools. 1. Enable or Disable Steam Input
Steam's built-in translation layer is the most reliable way to make modern Xbox and PlayStation controllers work with older games.
How to do it: Right-click Samurai Warriors 4-II in your Steam Library and select Properties > Controller. Under the "Override for Samurai Warriors 4-II" dropdown, select Enable Steam Input.
Alternative: Some users find that the game’s native DirectInput conflicts with Steam. If "Enable" doesn't work, try selecting Disable Steam Input and restarting the game. 2. Force Windows 7 Compatibility Mode
