The Epson L3211 uses a sponge-like waste ink pad located at the bottom of the printer. During print head cleaning or borderless printing, excess ink is flushed through the system and absorbed by this pad. Epson programs the printer to stop working after approximately 8,000 to 15,000 pages (or a certain amount of cleaning cycles).
