The story revolves around Lala Kedarnath (Akshay Kumar), the eldest brother of four sisters and the owner of a chaat shop in Chandni Chowk. Lala has taken a vow to his dying mother that he will not marry until he has gotten all his sisters married. The conflict arises when he realizes that while he is busy saving money for their dowries (a regressive practice the film oddly tries to navigate), his own childhood sweetheart, Sapna (Bhumi Pednekar), is running out of time to wait for him.
