Ptgui Pro 12 Instant
Mac users, rejoice. PTGui Pro 12 is fully optimized for M1, M2, and M3 chips. It runs natively, not via Rosetta 2. This results in lower battery drain on MacBooks and significantly faster stitching compared to version 11 running in emulation.
No software is perfect. While PTGui Pro 12 is exceptional, there are a few caveats:
PTGui Pro 12 has the most extensive lens database in the industry. Whether you shoot with a 7.5mm circular fisheye, a 200mm telephoto, or a 360° Insta360 X3, PTGui handles the mapping perfectly. The "Fisheye to Equirectangular" conversion is seamless, with automatic detection of radial distortion. ptgui pro 12
Version 12 handles bracketed exposures significantly better. The de-ghosting algorithm for HDR sequences has been tuned to preserve sharp edges even when clouds are moving fast. You can now fuse exposure brackets into 32-bit floating point TIFFs, giving you insane latitude for color grading in Lightroom after the stitch.
This is where PTGui Pro distinguishes itself from the standard version. Mac users, rejoice
1. Viewpoint Correction (The "V" Tool): If your panorama includes a nadir (the spot directly below the tripod) shot handheld or with a pole, or if you have objects close to the lens that appear distorted:
2. Exposure and Color Correction:
3. Masking: If there are moving objects (like people walking) that appear as "ghosts" in the overlap areas:
