If you have a physical USB DVD drive or an old internal drive that’s disabled:

Note: This guide assumes you legally own a copy of PES 6. Using a fixed executable to play a game you own is generally accepted for preservation purposes, but piracy is illegal and discouraged. pes 6 no cd dvdrom drive found better
Step 1: Locate the Installation Directory
Navigate to where you installed the game. By default, this is usually:
C:\Program Files (x86)\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 6
Step 2: Back Up the Original Executable
Find the file named pes6.exe. Copy it and paste it somewhere safe (like a "Backup" folder on your desktop). If anything goes wrong, you can restore this file. If you have a physical USB DVD drive
Step 3: Acquire the Fixed Executable You will need a "No-CD" or "Fixed EXE" file. These are widely available on legacy gaming sites (such as GameCopyWorld or similar archives).
Step 4: Replace the File
Copy the downloaded pes6.exe file and paste it into your game installation folder. Windows will ask if you want to replace the existing file—click Yes. ⚠️ This method is aggressive
Step 5: Compatibility Mode (Crucial for Modern Windows) Even with the disc check removed, PES 6 is an old program. To ensure it runs smoothly:
Step 6: Launch Double-click the executable. The game should now launch immediately without searching for a drive.
Forget cracks altogether – download a pre-patched portable version of PES 6 from a trusted abandonware site (e.g., PES 6 “Next Season Patch” or PES 6 Superpatch repacks). These often include a launcher that bypasses the drive check completely.
