Director Ang Lee has become the biggest proponent of high frame rates. With Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016) and Gemini Man (2019), Lee shot in 120fps (displaying at 60fps or higher in many theaters). Lee’s argument is that 3D has always been limited by the stutter of 24fps. By increasing the frame rate, he aimed to create total immersion, particularly in action sequences.
