Motorola holds copyright on all its CPS and RSS. Distribution without license is illegal. However, because the GM950 Plus is discontinued (since the mid-2000s), many hobbyists use archived copies under fair use for maintaining their own equipment. For commercial use, upgrading to a modern radio with legally obtainable software is the correct path.

No amount of "top" software will work without the correct programming cable. The GM950 Plus uses Motorola’s proprietary 16-pin accessory connector on the rear. You have two main cable options:
