Mo2 Extraction Failed Data — Error Exclusive

If the archive truly is corrupted (unlikely, but possible), standard browser downloads can fail.

Rare but possible – your MO2 instance’s settings or download cache may be broken.

Fix:

If your mod contains files with insane path lengths (common in old Oblivion or Morrowind mods), MO2’s extraction will fail exclusively.

Solution:

The Windows Search Indexer is notorious for holding exclusive locks on files while it indexes their contents for search. If your MO2 downloads folder has thousands of mods, the Indexer will lock archives.

The Fix:

Permanent fix: Go to Windows Search settings > Searching Windows > Excluded Folders > Add your MO2 folder to the exclusion list.
