One of the crown jewels of this version is the Auto Sampler. Do you own a vintage Juno-106 that is too heavy to tour with? Connect it to your interface, fire up Auto Sampler, and it will play every note at every velocity layer, creating a playable, mapped EXS24 instrument. Version 3.6.6 handles the round-robin algorithm better than any previous release.

At its core, MainStage uses "Patches." A Patch contains one or multiple channel strips (Instruments, Audio, or External MIDI). Version 3.6.6 introduced a refined Patch selector that allows for "Live" folder view, letting you organize setlists with ease. You can switch between a grand piano for a ballad to a dubstep wobble bass for a drop in under 20 milliseconds without audio dropout.
