Losing a license file can mean losing access to your $2,000+ software. Follow these backup rules:
Do NOT store the license file in a shared public folder. Anyone with access can run KeyShot 9 using your seat, violating your EULA. keyshot 9 license file
Symptoms: The license worked yesterday but fails today, and the keyshot9.lic file is missing.
Cause: Aggressive antivirus (McAfee, Norton, Bitdefender) sometimes misidentifies .lic handlers as exploit vectors.
Solution: Restore the file from quarantine and add the KeyShot 9 folder to your AV exclusion list. Losing a license file can mean losing access
A: Minor updates (9.0 → 9.3) retain the license. Major version changes (9 → 10) require a new license. If you reinstall KeyShot 9 cleanly, you must point it back to your .lic file. Do NOT store the license file in a shared public folder
