Many users confuse soft reset (restart) with hard reset (factory reset). Here is the difference:

| Action | Soft Reset (Restart) | Hard Reset (Factory Reset) | |--------|----------------------|----------------------------| | Effect | Reboots only; retains all data | Wipes all data and settings | | When to use | Watch is slow or app crashes | Watch is frozen, passcode forgotten, or selling device | | Data loss | No | Yes |

To perform a soft reset on MYKI Watch 4: Press and hold the side button for 5-8 seconds until the power menu appears, then tap “Restart.” Or simply press and hold for 10 seconds to force a restart without menu.

Some versions of the MYKI Watch 4 allow a remote reset through the official smartphone app. This is useful if the screen is broken or unreadable.

This is the standard method if you can still navigate the watch’s touchscreen.

Step 1: Wake up the watch screen by pressing the side button or raising your wrist.

Step 2: From the main watch face, swipe down from the top of the screen. This opens the Quick Settings/Control Center (similar to a smartphone). This works if your screen is responsive

Step 3: Look for the Settings gear icon (⚙️). Tap on it.

Step 4: Scroll down through the settings menu until you find an option labeled “Reset” or “Factory Reset.” (Sometimes it is located inside a sub-menu called “System” or “General.”)

Step 5: Tap on “Reset” or “Factory Reset.”

Step 6: The watch will ask for confirmation. It may say “Erase all data?” or “Reset to factory settings?” Tap “Confirm” or “Yes.”

Step 7: The watch screen will go dark, then show a logo. The reset process takes about 30–60 seconds. The watch will reboot automatically.

Step 8: Once rebooted, the watch will show a welcome screen or a pairing QR code. It is now successfully hard reset.

Note: exact button combinations/menus can vary slightly by firmware version; if Power + Volume Down doesn’t enter recovery, try Power + Volume Up. Step 5: Tap on it

If the watch is frozen, stuck on a logo, or not responding to touch, use this method.

Step 1: Place the watch on its charger and plug the charger into a USB power source (wall adapter or computer). A frozen watch sometimes needs power to reboot correctly.

Step 2: Locate the side button (the only physical button on the MYKI Watch 4, usually on the right side).

Step 3: Press and hold the side button for 20–30 seconds continuously. Do not release even if the screen changes.

Step 4: The screen will eventually turn off completely. Keep holding. After a few more seconds, the MYKI logo should appear.

Step 5: Once the logo appears, release the button. The watch will reboot in normal mode but will not erase your data (this is a soft reboot, not a hard reset).

Step 6: After the reboot, immediately follow Method 1 above to perform the actual factory reset while the watch is functional.

Note: If the watch remains frozen after holding the button for 30 seconds, try holding it while the watch is off the charger, then place it on the charger while still holding the button. This forces a deeper power cycle.
