Hooked is a guilty pleasure done right. It doesn’t pretend to be literary fiction, but it delivers exactly what dark romance fans want: a dangerous man with a soft spot, a heroine who finds her own strength, and a familiar fairy tale twisted into something deliciously wrong.

⚠️ Dubious consent – There are scenes where Wendy says no but doesn’t physically resist; some readers find this problematic. Kobo is a favorite for international readers
⚠️ Plot over emotion – The revenge plot drives most of the action, so if you prefer slow-burn emotional depth over suspense, you might feel a bit unmoored.
⚠️ Predictable beats – If you’ve read many dark mafia romances, the “bad boy falls for the innocent” arc won’t surprise you.
