Why it’s great: It’s a brain chess match. There is almost no physical action—just two geniuses trying to outthink each other. The internal monologues, the fake-outs, the potato chip scene. The first 25 episodes are a 10/10. The second arc dips slightly, but the finale is iconic. The manga has a slightly different, more cynical ending. Skip the live-action Netflix film.
Verdict: 9/10. The best entry point for psychological thrillers.
