Firmware updates sometimes reset settings to defaults. Navigate to the scanner’s touch panel: [Settings] >

  • Go to Maintenance → Backup/Restore.
  • Click Backup → save the .dat file.
  • Also note custom settings: scan profiles, network config, email/SMTP, and user accounts.
