If you bought a UK copy from Amazon, you were locked into English. The Steam auto-language feature was rudimentary, and SEGA did not offer downloadable official language packs for FM 11. The community had to create them by extracting .ltc (Language Text Container) files from full regional versions of the game.

Important: Patch 11.1.1 updated most of these .ltc files. Using an older language file from 11.1.0 with the 11.1.1 executable will cause mismatched string IDs → crashes.
Even with the correct Football Manager 2011 language pack 11.1.1, you may encounter issues:
