Beyond standard .exe files, this version is optimized for ScummVM (LucasArts adventure games) and older RPG Maker 2000/2003 titles.

As of 2024-2025, ExaGear 5.0.4 is no longer the only game in town. Two major open-source alternatives have emerged:

Verdict: If you want to plug and play Diablo II or Fallout 2 today, use ExaGear 5.0.4. If you want to run Fallout 3 or Skyrim (lightly), use Winlator. ExaGear remains the king of low-overhead, classic 2D and early 3D games.

Inside ExaGear, create a resolution.txt file in the Downloads folder. Write: 800x600 Most classic games look best at 800x600. Running at 1080p or 1440p will cause single-digit FPS.

Not every PC game works. 3D games with heavy shaders will fail. Here is a curated list of 100% playable classics:

Note: ExaGear does not include Windows or games – you must provide your own legally owned copies.

ExaGear is CPU-intensive. Go to Settings > Apps > ExaGear > Battery and select "Unrestricted." Otherwise, Android will throttle the CPU after 10 minutes.
