Open defaults.json with Notepad++ or VSCode (not plain Notepad). Look for the following line:

"texture_atlas_size": 1024,

Change it to:

"texture_atlas_size": 2048,

For extreme setups (RTX 3070+), use 4096. Do not exceed 4096 — the engine becomes unstable above 8K. dungeondraft 1024 upd

Cause: You have a corrupted atlas cache.
Fix: Go to Help > Troubleshooting > Clear Asset Cache. Restart Dungeondraft. Allow it to rebuild the atlas. Open defaults

For years, Dungeondraft users faced a specific bottleneck: texture resolution. The software was originally optimized for lower-end machines, capping texture resolution at lower values to ensure smooth performance on older laptops. While functional, this resulted in blurry walls and pixelated props when zooming in on platforms like Foundry VTT or Roll20. Change it to: "texture_atlas_size": 2048,
