2563 — Danfoss Vlt Error Code

Do not replace the motor or cabling for Error 2563. Below is what Alarm 2563 is not:

| Mistaken Fault | Actual Source | | :--- | :--- | | Motor winding short | That triggers Alarm 4 (Earth Fault) or 7 (Overcurrent) | | Encoder feedback noise | Triggers Alarm 510 (Enc Loss) | | Input voltage drop | Triggers Alarm 2 (Live Zero Error) or 12 (Overvoltage) | | Broken IGBT | Triggers Alarm 14 (Earth fault) or 37 (Phase Imbalance) |

If your motor runs fine on a different VFD, the issue is 100% internal to the Danfoss drive. Danfoss Vlt Error Code 2563

VFDs are noisy environments by design. Poorly shielded motor cables, missing RFI filters, or improper grounding can inject high-frequency noise into the control card’s power rails, corrupting memory writes/reads.

Typical scenario: Error appears intermittently when a large contactor or another drive nearby switches on/off. Do not replace the motor or cabling for Error 2563

If the drive is >10 years old and Error 2563 recurs weekly, replacement with a VLT FC-360 or new FC-302 is more economical than board-level repair.

Error 2563 on Danfoss VLT drives indicates a communication-related fault between the drive and an external device or an internal communication module. Common causes include wiring faults, configuration mismatches, faulty communication modules, or intermittent electrical noise. Error 2563 on Danfoss VLT drives indicates a

  • Inspect fans – With power ON (using safe access), listen for fan noise. Check for stuck/missing blades.
  • Clean the drive – Use compressed air to blow dust out of the heatsink from the bottom up. Important: Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
  • | Problem | Solution | | :--- | :--- | | Dirty cabinet/drive | Implement a preventive maintenance schedule (clean heat sinks every 3-6 months). Install cabinet air filters. | | Undersized fan | Replace with Danfoss OEM fan kit. Third-party fans often have lower CFM ratings. | | High ambient temp | Install cabinet air conditioning, vortex cooler, or forced exhaust fan with filtered intake. | | Excess load | Use a larger VLT drive (next frame size). Consider a motor upgrade if running continuously above FLA. | | High switching frequency | Reduce to minimum acceptable level (e.g., 3 kHz). Enable “Automatic Derating” (Par 14-01). | | Poor cabinet layout | Re-rack drives per Danfoss spacing guidelines (typically 100mm above/below, 50mm sides). |
