If you’ve done all the above and still get Error 50005, borrow a known-good ECM from a similar engine. Plug it in (don’t mount it, just plug the harness in). If INSITE connects to the donor ECM, your original ECM has an internal hardware failure (bad CAN transceiver chip). If it still fails, the problem is the wiring harness or the adapter.
