Tap the checkmark or Save in the top right corner. The router will apply the settings.
Does it work now? Wait 60 seconds. Go to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings. The guest network SSID should appear. Connect using the password. You should have internet access, but you will not be able to ping your main network IPs.
The Xiaomi AX1800 web interface (192.168.31.1) has limited guest options compared to the app, but you can still set a basic guest network. create guest network on xiaomi mi router ax1800 work
Open a browser (Chrome, Firefox). Go to http://miwifi.com or http://192.168.31.1. Enter your admin password.
You will see identical options to the app, plus one extra: Tap the checkmark or Save in the top right corner
Once inside the router’s control panel, look for the "Wi-Fi Settings" (or "Network Settings") option. Tap on it. This menu controls both your main 2.4GHz/5GHz networks and the guest network.
Symptom: Main network gets 500 Mbps, guest network gets 5 Mbps. Fix: Check two things: Open a browser (Chrome, Firefox)
A legitimate concern: Does the guest network actually isolate traffic?
The Short Answer: Yes, if configured correctly.
The AX1800 uses VLAN isolation (Virtual Local Area Network). When you leave "Allow guests to access my local network" unchecked, the router creates a hard barrier. Guests can see the internet and the router’s gateway IP (for login), but they cannot see your PC on 192.168.31.101 or your printer on 192.168.31.105.
The One Caveat: The guest network can see other guests if you check "Allow guests to see each other." If you are hosting a hacker convention, leave that unchecked.
