In the current builds of Subsistence, the standard tilde (~) key does not open a command console by default. To access console commands, you must enable "Cheats" within the game settings.
Once this is enabled, a new "Cheats" button or tab usually becomes accessible in the main menu, or the console window can be opened by pressing the tilde key (~).
