Ccboot — Image
This is where CCBoot shines. Instead of overwriting your main image, you create a "Child" image linked to a read-only "Parent."
Note: This guide assumes a standard setup. Always refer to the official CCBoot documentation for version-specific nuances regarding VHD formats (Fixed vs. Dynamic). ccboot image
In CCBoot terminology, the "Golden Image" is your master VHD. If your image is bloated, slow, or unstable, every single client will be slow and unstable. Conversely, a lean, optimized CCBoot image allows for lightning-fast boot times (5–10 seconds to Windows desktop) and flawless game performance. This is where CCBoot shines
If you manage 50+ clients, manual image management is a nightmare. Automate it. Note: This guide assumes a standard setup
Do not store games inside the bootable OS image. Create a secondary CCBoot image labeled "Steam_Library" and attach it to clients via the "Multi Disk" feature. This way, updating Steam doesn't require rebooting the OS image.
CCBoot is a network boot (PXE) and diskless PC solution primarily used in internet cafes, schools, training centers, and labs to centrally manage client machine images. Instead of installing an OS on each client, CCBoot stores a master image (or multiple images) on a server and boots client PCs over the network into that image. This reduces maintenance, speeds deployment, and protects client systems from local changes or corruption.
