Before Nevermore, Marion Raven was best known as one half of the Norwegian pop-rock duo M2M (with Marit Larsen). M2M found international success with the hit “Don’t Say You Love Me” from the Pokémon: The First Movie soundtrack and their album Shades of Purple (2000). RavenRar) is a Scandinavian-born, classically trained multi-instrumentalist who emerged from the Oslo underground scene in the late 2010s. Unlike her namesake (Marion Raven of M2M fame), RavenRar operates in a completely different tonal universe.
Her moniker combines "Marion" (suggesting a puppet or vessel) with "RavenRar" (a portmanteau of "raven" and the Old Norse ráð meaning counsel or power). This duality is central to her persona: the delicate control of a marionette versus the raw, untamed intelligence of the corvid.
